Shared Chair
2026

Shared Chair (แชร์-แชร์) is a series of stackable rebar chairs and a table inspired by the informal and improvised methods of assembly found in Bangkok’s everyday street furniture. Growing up in Bangkok, I was fascinated by how everyday objects were constantly repaired, adapted, and assembled using simple, readily available materials. These practical, improvised solutions shape the city’s streetscape while quietly supporting the everyday social interactions that often grow around them.

Drawing on these observations, Shared Chair brings together Thai people living in London through a shared process of making and dining. Participants are invited to weave the seating surfaces before gathering around a shared table to share food, creating opportunities for cultural exchange, new connections, and a shared sense of belonging.
